"A House Is Not A Home" - Ed Smith
This was recorded on Robert's iPhone at the Grille at Morrison House in September 2011. There was this very cool communication going on between the three of us that I've never noticed before. Much fun on this one. Check out how Bob ends this. He ends a tune better than anyone. As for the featured vocalist, Tiffany Wharton does far superior version of this tune but, when she's not there, I have a little fun with it.
"How Little We Know" - Tim Gavigan
The improvements Tim has made have been absolutely incredible. He went from being a relatively capable vocalist to being one of the very best we have. To say that he's polished would be the understatement of the century. He wears his love of Frank Sinatra on his sleeve but now, he's really come into his own and has his own distinct style independent of his influences. Again, another iPhone recording so please, don't expect sonic perfection.
"I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good) - Tiffany Wharton
Yet another in a series of excellent vocal performances from Tiffany - this one from September 30, 2011. She's killed this one before. I'm just glad Robert managed to capture it this time on his iPhone.
"Just The Way You Are" - Bob Smith (Instrumental)
This is just incredible. I asked our fearless leader to do this for me some
time ago when we were working at the Madison Hotel. I tried to think of a
relatively simple tune that he could get creative with. What he did
absolutely blew my mind. He gives us his own unique interpretation of the
song without ever losing the spirit of the tune. Give this a listen and see
if you don't agree.
"This Is The Moment"- Tim Day
This tune is tailor-made for Tim. He's got a huge voice and it's right at home on this tune from "Jeckyll and Hyde." The audience ate it up this September evening in 2011. Yet again, another iPhone recording
Listen
While we could sit here and talk about Bob all night long, his skill really speaks for itself.
Enjoy this brief collection of recordings of Bob playing from various past events.
