Next Theme night: "Lullabies of Broadway"!
2 March, 2012
I hope you folks are enjoying the theme nights as much as Robert, Ed, and I are. Following a tremendous evening of Academy Award music we are now going to visit the Great White Way for an evening of "Lullabies of Broadway." Friday, 2 March, is the date, and the productions which have given us the great American songbook, the Broadway shows, will be the theme, from "Show Boat" up to the Tony Award candidates of today. This will be a tremendous challenge for me because the music of Broadway is not my forte, so I ask you singers to come prepared with your transposed sheet music and work with me at our 7 PM Tuesday sessions. I want to make you sound like you have just stepped onto a stage on 42nd Street. I am suggesting Formal Attire for this event. I know the ladies love to dress up, and we guys need to make the effort! I am told that my son will be premiering his new tuxedo for this special occasion! Our Stage Manager, Beth Connolly, will be in charge, once again, of props and decorations. Make your reservations NOW and let's light the lights, lift the curtain, and make Mr. Zigfield proud! BREAK A LEG!!!
